The client’s brief was to have a building that would work for as many disabilities as possible without looking clinical. This has been achieved through innovative design with disability features incorporated in a sensitive interior design. The highly insulated building with sedum roof, and underfloor heating are critical to enable the building to be used through the year. No radiators removes the risk of injury if those with poor mobility stumble and fall. The flooring is Forbo Nairn safe step which is ideal for wheelchair users while being easy to clean and for allergy sufferers keeps dust to a minimum. There is an air source heat pump with back up LPG boiler which is very economic and sustainable
