Hardies acted as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on this project to build a new primary school, new community library, new medical centre and to refurbish an existing leisure centre. The School was built to replace an existing school and the library and doctors surgery were demolished on completion of these works. The facility now operates as a community hub and is a new model for Mid Lothian Council.

The school is a double-storey building with classrooms located off a spacious link corridors. Each classroom has large windows and an open outlook, making maximum use of natural light. Although part of the school, the nursery and early years sections have their own entrance and play area. Attractive landscaped grounds provide a welcoming environment for outdoor play. Multi-use games surfaces are also provided.

The project also included a state of the art Medical Centre and Library. In the hub is a café and soft play area. This area links the school, library, leisure centre and medical centre.
