Former pupils could help build schools

Two former Newbattle pupils could help build two new primary schools in Midlothian, thanks to construction consultant Hardies.

Kirsten O’Connor and Laura Falconer, who are being supported by the firm while they study at Napier University, could gain vital work experience on the new Gorebridge North and Bilston primary schools.

When the two pupils successfully complete their studies, Hardies will also guarantee each of them a full-time post for two years and support them through their RICS professional membership process to allow them to become chartered surveyors.
