Our Housing team continues to expand and are looking for senior housing professionals to help deliver projects across Scotland. Our team work for all the major Local Authorities, Registered Social Landlords and Housing Developers across Scotland priding ourselves on our ability to overcome challenges and deliver for our clients.

You will require experience in new build affordable or private housing construction projects and processes. We are currently delivering projects at all stages ranging from various stages of pre-construction, site identification and viability proposals to prestigious award-winning projects on-site nearing completion and handover.

This role would suit somebody looking for a long-term career opportunity, a passion to deliver affordable housing and looking to make a day to day impact in the Hardies business from day one.

Reporting directly to our Head of Housing we are seeking a senior quantity surveyor/project manager with ideally employers agent experience and/or similar experience working for a main contractor delivering affordable housing projects. You will also require a working knowledge of pre and post contract administration on affordable housing projects. 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to

Pre Contract

  • Assist the head of Housing to deliver the key business objective of growth.
  • Site Identification and Land Assembly
  • Assist with Feasibility / Viability appraisals of new build affordable housing opportunities.
  • Preparation of Cost Plans / Budget Estimates
  • Preparation and completion of contract and tender documents
  • Business Development 

Post Contract

  • Lead existing affordable housing projects post-contract ensuring these are delivered on time and budget for our clients
  • Produce valuations, payment applications, financial statements and cash flows
  • Identify changes to contract documents/specifications.
  • Costing variations and Cost reporting.
  • Understanding of quality control, material scheduling, programming etc.
  • It is essential to have the knowledge and confidence to be able to lead projects post contract.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • A BSc degree in Quantity Surveying or a degree in Cost Management, Commercial Management or similar is desirable
  • Other relevant BSc degree.
