This is a pipeline welding production facility 139m long in which pipes are brought in at the western end in 10m lengths and fed through 12 welding stations until the length of the pipe is 132m long and it is then pulled slowly out of the eastern end of the building into the stalk rack area with the pipe constantly being lengthened by constant feed weld until each pipe is 740m long .These pipes are collected on stalk racks which are external and at 12m centres over a distance of 750m long by approximately 12m wide with running road access both sides for plant to pull and handle pipes .

When the spooling boat comes into dock the 700m lengths are fed though a different part of the spooling shed and welded together and drawn via an under road culvert which was constructed as part of the contract onto a spooling ship berthed in Imperial dock up to a total pipe length of 32km.

The facility is a single storey shed type building 145m long x 12m wide with a 30×6 spooling welding building through which the 700m lengths were pulled through for welding together and spooling into the spooling ship.

In addition a two storey office building was constructed adjacent to the main building using a second hand portacabin type building which was fully refurbished to comply with client requirement and building regulations.
