Rosyth Dockyard Dockside Facilities
Hardies acted as Cost Consultant and Employers Agent on the £6 million new dockside ship and nuclear submarine storage facilities. These new build facilities were built to house the Rosyth Dockyard ship and submarine refitting design team, dockside amenities facilities and essential store and supplies for the refitting of ships and nuclear submarines. This facility was highly serviced as most of the stored parts and equipment were taken from the dockside vessels and had to be kept in a controlled environment. The new storage facilities included automated high storage bays and lay down areas which were capable of storing items of equipment of all shapes and sizes. This project was completed on budget and ahead of programme. Babcock Rosyth Dockyard has continued to re-employ Hardies on a similar basis on a number of other similar projects as they realise the benefit Hardies bring to their organisation. We are currently working with them on their decommissioning project.
